Printing
The CS Print System
The CS Print System is currently in use in the public computing labs and all libraries across the KU campus. CS Print is directly tied into the KU Card system and uses computer authentication to identify who is printing. When a student authenticates through the Home Domain onto a computer in these locations, they are able to print using funds in their Beak 'Em Bucks account on the KU Card. Due to this, it is imperative that students log off computers when they leave, so that other students do not use their accounts to print.
PC Printing
Open the document that you wish to print. In the upper left-hand corner, click File, Print. When the print window opens, select which printer you would like to send your document to, and click 'Print' (A default printer should be identified depending on what location you are currently in). A seperate window will now open, and inform you that you have selected something to print. If you do not have the proper amount of funds on your KU Card, a notice will appear in the window. If you do have the proper amount, you can select your document to print immediately, or print later. Once you send the document to print, go to the printer you selected, and collect your material.
Mac Printing
Open the document that you wish to print. In the upper left-hand corner, click File, Print. When the print window opens, select which printer you would like to print from. Go to the PC located next to the printer. Select the print job you would like to print, and click 'Print' A box will appear and ask for your 16 digit ISO number that is located on your KU Card. Enter your number. If you do not have the proper amount of funds on your KU Card, a notice will appear in the window. If you do have the proper amount, you can select your document to print immediately, or print later. Once you send the document to print, collect your material from the printer.
KU Card In order to print, you must have money on your KU Card. You can credit your KU Card from a cash-to-card machine (Anschutz Library, or the Kansas Union), or online through a bank account or a credit card, using the Student Portal. We suggest that you recharge your KU Card with enough money for printing so that you will not have to recharge your card multiple times throughout the semester.
